Active Ingredients

Each tablet contains:

Acetylsalicylic Acid (Aspirin) 400 mg

Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) 240 mg

Indications

Therapeutic activity:

Aspirin C is used for relief of pain, reduction of fever (antipyretic), treatment of non-infective inflammatory processes (antirheumatic), inhibition of platelet aggregation (treatment of rheumatic diseases and prevention of platelet aggregation according to doctor's instructions only).

Instructions

Do not chew! Do not swallow!

Take this medicine with or after a meal.

Put the tablet in a glass and add water or another liquid. Ensure that the tablet has dissolved completely, and drink the entire amount while it is bubbling or afterwards. To make sure that you drank the entire amount, add more water to the glass and drink it.

Do not lie down for 15-30 minutes after taking the medicine.

Recommended dosage unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor:

For relief of pain and reduction of fever:

Adults: 1-2 tablets up to 4 times daily.

Children: According to doctor's instructions only.

Treatment of rheumatic diseases and prevention of platelet aggregation:

According to doctor's instructions.

Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

If fever persists for more than 3 days or if pain persists for more than 10 days, refer to your doctor.

Do not discontinue treatment with this medicine without consulting your doctor if this medicine is taken according to doctor's instructions for prevention of platelet aggregation or for the treatment of rheumatic diseases.

Warnings

Do not use this medicine if you are sensitive to any of its ingredients or to other drugs from the same family.

Do not use this medicine in patients suffering from gastric ulcer and bleeding, or from asthma in combination with nasal polyps.

Do not use this medicine in children or adolescents up to the age of 20 in diseases accompanied by fever, such as flu or chicken pox (due to the risk of Reye's syndrome).

Do not take this medicine 5 days before any surgery, including dental surgery, unless otherwise instructed by your doctor.

Do not use this medicine frequently or for a period exceeding 10 consecutive days without consulting your doctor.

High dosages of this medicine may affect the results of laboratory tests for urine glucose levels. During periods of prolonged treatment or when this medicine is taken in high dosages, blood tests, liver and kidney function tests should be performed.

If you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day, consult a doctor whether you should take this medicine, or another product for the relief of pain and/or reduction of fever. Aspirin may cause bleeding in the stomach.

Do not take concomitantly with other non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Do not take this medicine without consulting a doctor before starting treatment:

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Aspirin in high dosages is not recommended in the last trimester of pregnancy.

If you are suffering, or have suffered in the past, from impaired function of the respiratory system (e.g. asthma), the heart and/or vascular system, the liver, the kidney/urinary tract, the gastrointestinal tract, the blood system, nasal polyps.

If you suffer from oedemas or hypertension.

If you are maintaining a low sodium diet.

If you are sensitive to anti-inflammatory or anti-rheumatic drugs.

Alcohol consumption should be minimised while under treatment with this medicine.

If you are taking another drug concomitantly or if you have just finished treatment with another medicine, inform the attending doctor, in order to prevent hazards or lack of efficacy arising from drug interactions. This is especially important for medicines belonging to the following groups: antinausea drugs, anticoagulants, drugs to treat diabetes, steroids, drugs to treat gout (probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, phenylbutazone), drugs to treat glaucoma (acetazolamide), drugs to treat epilepsy (valproic acid), additional analgesics, phenothiazines, drugs to treat AIDS (zidovudine), drugs which change the PH level of urine (such as high dosages of antacids), methotrexate, other drugs which also contain ascorbic acid (vitamin C), sulfonamides, aldosterone, digoxin, anti-hypertensives.
