Active Ingredients

Each tablet contains:

  • Dexchlorpheniramine Maleate 1mg
  • Pseudoephedrine (as HCl) 25mg

Indications

Dexchlorpheniramine is an antihistamine of the polyamine class.

Pseudoephedrine is an alpha-agonist, sympatomimetic decongestant.

Nussidex is used for the symptomatic treatment of common cold and allergic rhinitis.

Instructions

Take the medicine with or after a meal.

Do not chew, crush or divide the tablets.

Unless otherwise directed by the doctor the recommended dosage is:

Adults: 1-2 tablets, twice daily

Children: 6-12 years of age :1 tablet daily

Do not exceed the recommended dosage

Warnings

Do not use this preparation if you are sensitive to any of its ingredients.

Do not use this medicine if you are in the third trimester of pregnancy.

Do not use this medicine in children under the age of 6 years.

Do not use this medicine concomitantly with monoamine oxidase inhibitors ( MAOI) or within 14 days of discontinuing such treatment.

Do not use this medicine concomitantly with Beta Blockers or other sympathomimetics decongestants.

Do not use this medicine if you are suffering from high blood pressure, severe heart problem, diabetes, pheochromocytoma, hyperthyroidism, severe renal impairment, closed angle glaucoma.

Do not use this preparation without consulting a doctor before starting treatment: If you are pregnant or if you are breastfeeding, if you are suffering or have suffered in the past from impaired function of the heart/blood vessels (e.g. hypertension), the eyes (e.g. high intraocular pressure), the kidney/urinary system, the liver, the digestive system (e.g. ulcer, pyloroduodenal obstruction), nervous system (e.g. convulsions), enlargement of the prostate gland, urinary bladder neck obstruction or from peptic ulcer due to narrowing.

Do not drink wine or alcoholic beverages while under treatment with this medicine.

This medicine may cause particular sensitivity upon exposure to the sun, therefore avoid exposing yourself to the sun and use appropriate protection.

This medicine may cause drowsiness.

Do not take this medicine 48 hours prior to allergy tests because Nussidex may affect the results of allergy tests.
