Reduces mucus viscosity and sputum. Facilitates the removal of phlegm during coughing when there is an accumulation of mucus in the airways.

Active Ingredients

Each tablet contains:

Bromhexine HCl 8mg.

Indications

Therapeutic group:

Mucolytics, reducing the viscosity of mucus and phlegm.

Movex tablets are intended to ease the removal of phlegm when coughing in conditions where there is an accumulation of phlegm in the respiratory tract.

Instructions

Do not chew! Swallow the tablets with plenty of water.

The medicine should be taken with or after a meal.

The tablet may be split or crushed, if necessary.

Recommended dosage unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor:

Adults and children over the age of 12 years:

One tablet, three times a day. In the first week of the treatment the dosage may be increased to up to two tablets, three times a day.

Children aged 6-12 years:

Half a tablet, three times a day

Children aged 2-6 years:

Dosage according to doctor's instructions only.

Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

If there is no improvement in your condition within 7 days, consult your doctor.

Warnings

Do not take Movex tablets if you are sensitive to the active ingredient or to any of the other ingredients included in the medicine.

Before starting treatment with this medicine, tell your doctor if:

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding

• You are suffering or have suffered in the past from impaired function of the digestive system (e.g. ulcer) or from liver or kidney problems.

• You suffer from a stubborn or chronic cough such as a smoker's cough, asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or a cough accompanied by excessive mucus.

Stop using the medication and refer to a doctor immediately if an allergic reaction occurs with blisters and bleeding on the lips, eyes, nose or genitals, it may be a symptom of anaphylaxis requiring immediate medical intervention. There are extremely rare reports of severe skin reactions such as Stevens Johnson syndrome and Lyell's syndrome with preparations containing bromhexine.

Do not use this medicine frequently or for a prolonged period of time without consulting a doctor.

Movex tablets contain lactose. This medicine must not be administered to patients suffering from rare hereditary disorder of intolerance to galactose (a component of lactose) such as galactosemia (deficient conversion of galactose into glucose).

If you are sensitive to lactose, you must inform your doctor before taking this medicine.

If you are taking, or have recently taken, other medicines, including nonprescription medicines and nutritional supplements, tell the doctor or pharmacist in order to prevent hazards or lack of efficacy arising from drug interactions. You should especially tell the doctor or pharmacist if you are taking: antibiotics such as ampicillin, amoxicillin, erythromycin, or oxytetracycline.

This medicine is not intended for infants and children under the age of two years.
